Make-up Halal Certified, not Important?

Recently, news about fake cosmetics could enliven the mass media. This was disturbing the public. These counterfeit products not only spread a bad name for the producer who forged, but also detrimental to the user. The fake product makers will not be responsible for any adverse effects that occur on the consumer. Counterfeit products are often made by a cottage industry that tries to make cosmetics with ingredients that do not clear and even dangerous. We have many cosmetic products that come from abroad. With the promise of heaven, says these products will provide instant results on the skin, but in fact, actually harmful to the health of internal organs.

It is now often preached about how the selection of safe cosmetics. Not a few consumers who are critical and knowing how to choose safe cosmetics. Among other things, that do not contain mercury, hydroquinone, and heavy metals. But not many cosmetics that carry kosher certification, but there are many cosmetic raw material that is not lawful for the Muslim community.

"Most consumers of cosmetics in Indonesia are Muslim women. Thus, halal certification is important for them, the user is convinced, that the product purchased cosmetics safe to use, not only can make a beautiful course," said Krishna Tranggono, Operations Director of PT Ristra Indolab, the Female Compass, some time ago in House of Ristra when announcing the issuance of halal certification by LPPOM MUI for Ristra.

"Currently, halal certification is required for food products, cosmetics products while still a volunteer, voluntary, not mandatory. However, this sort of thing if filed by the owner of the brand, then consumers increasingly confident of its product, that the producers are not only thinking of selling, but also think about the needs of the user assurance, "said Evi Aziz, Senior Scientist PT Ristra Indolab.

Explained by Evi, to produce halal products, required knowledge of materials that can be used. Because there are many cosmetic products that use products with ingredients that are not kosher. The definition of halal products are eligible according to Islamic law, among others;
* Does not contain wine (material created through the fermentation process and intoxicating) and its derivatives.
* Does not contain pork and materials derived from pigs.
* All materials of animal origin must be from halal animals slaughtered according to Islamic procedures.
* Does not contain other ingredients that are forbidden, or considered unclean, such as carrion, blood, the materials derived from human organs, feces, and so forth.
